There's the Retrofit 1.0 ModAs stated on it's page, it 'retrofits various Medieval II Total War (M2TW): Kingdoms features, improvements and bug fixes to vanilla M2TW.' And features:'-Hotseat Campaigns.- Control AI Reinforcements.- Boiling Oil.- 4 Additional custom battle maps (Backwoods, Borderlands, Forts, Trenches).- Unit rebalancing.- AI Unit Recruitment tweaks.- Campaign AI Tweaks.- Miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements.- Installer: The mod is packaged with an easy to use installer for computers with a valid installation of M2TW: Kingdoms.' Install that with Retrofit 2.0, which adds 'Ireland, Kievian Rus’, Norway, Novgorod, Kwarezm, Cumans and Wales as playable factions,' and adds 'Jerusalem, Antioch and Teutonic Order as emergent factions.' There's also new units for the said holy order factions and Wales has new units based on guerrilla warfare. There's also 2 new campaign modes in Retrofit 2.0, one which takes place in the Holy Land, and the other that takes place in the Baltics. There's also the Total Vanilla mod, which includes the factions of ' Ireland, Norway, Lithuania (complete with religion change), Novgorod, Emirate of Damascus and the Empire of Azumi'It contains new features such as unique units for each faction (with the Empire of Azumi being nothing but unique units. In the middle of the ocean of course), and a Debt Script that prevents the AI from training units, but allows them to continue building buildings. There's also the successor mod, Total Vanilla Beyond 1.5, which adds the Mongols, Ireland, Norway, Lithuania, Novgorod, Damascus, Khwarazmian Empire, and Cumans. 1.5 also features the Debt Script from the original Total Vanilla mod and features units from the Retrofit GUAM sub-mod along with other extra units. As a plus, old world factions can also make their way to the Americas through 3 different waterways with any ship, so no more waiting until late-game to reach the Americas. It is also in the process of updating itself to 2.0, which will add 2 new factions.

Originally posted by:Stainless steel adds this and that, in addition to various kingdoms factions (though not all of them). It more then just adds this and that. It's like taking the recipe, and then turning it into somthing that's like the original recipe, but entirely different. It's the difference between rice and eggs, which is good out of itself and very homely, and turning it into a spiced up and incredibly tasty fried rice combo with veggies and eggs and sauce, with the possibily of adding extra items like seseme chicken and orange chicken and etc. What the OP might currently be looking for is just rice and eggs with spice, not fried rice.
